RENT DUE • TWO-CYCLE PLANNING
Just Now LoanClose this rent gap without losing sight of the next one
Use the amount due, the actual deadline and confirmed income arriving in time. Then check whether the next rent cycle still works with an added payment.
Independent planning tools. No lender application is sent.
Start with the numbersThis month’s gap. Next month’s budget.
Your entries are planning inputs, not an offer. No personal identifiers are needed.
Illustrative arithmetic, not financial advice, eligibility or a lender offer. How the tools work
A payment date matters as much as the balance
Enter the due date shown in your agreement or notice. If a landlord or manager offers a different arrangement, get the amount, dates, charges and effect of the arrangement in writing. The planner does not calculate eviction deadlines, grace periods or legal protections.
Money expected after the rent deadline is excluded from the immediate gap unless the payee has accepted that timing. Assistance applications and a possible loan are not confirmed funds.
Ask for a specific arrangement rather than a general extension
A useful conversation identifies what you can pay now, when the remainder can be paid and whether additional charges apply. Ask what the agreement changes and what it does not. Do not assume an informal message or a partial payment pauses any action.
Use the worksheet to prepare those figures. It produces a plan you can print, not a notice to the landlord or a legal agreement.
Check assistance alongside the calculation
USA.gov directs people seeking emergency rent help to state and local resources, including community assistance routes. The relevant program must confirm eligibility, whether it is accepting requests and how payment is made. USA.gov — Emergency help paying rent
Do not subtract the hoped-for amount from rent until it is confirmed and usable by the required date. If a program pays the landlord directly, confirm how and when the landlord will apply it to your account.
Why the worksheet checks two rent cycles
Borrowing can settle today’s balance while adding a payment to next month’s bills. The second calculation includes next month’s expected income, rent, other essentials, existing required payments and the proposed installment.
This is a planning model, not a lender affordability test. It flags a negative remainder because the inputs do not support every planned outflow. A positive remainder does not account for omitted expenses or uncertain income.
Use a one-time loan only as a fully priced fallback
If an uncovered amount remains, compare a quote using the cash that would arrive—not only the principal. Check whether withheld fees would leave another rent gap, and compare the full repayment schedule with your dates. CFPB — Personal loans consumer resources
Do not rely on a promised same-day result when payment is due today. Verification, a decision, release and bank posting may be separate. Discuss the deadline with the payee while assessing any borrowing route.
When rent exceeds the budget repeatedly
A recurring shortfall requires a different plan from a paycheck arriving two days late. The recurring-gap control keeps assistance and a payment-arrangement discussion prominent instead of producing a larger suggested loan.
This page does not determine tenant rights or instruct you to ignore a notice. For a legal notice or disputed deadline, obtain advice that applies to the actual place and circumstances.
